In Marktredwitz, Kaufland is deliberately going down the wood path. The new store at Bayreuther Strasse 15, which opens this Monday, has wooden posts and glued beams instead of reinforced concrete in the substructure. For the first time, the company is using natural materials for a stable, low-CO2 foundation made from renewable raw materials from the region.
