According to Regio Data’s most recent report, while brick-and-mortar retailing throughout Europe has been in decline for years, factory outlet centers are developing magnificently. In total, the sales area of the 180 outlet centers is already around 4.6 million sq m, compared with 3.3 million sq m a decade ago. This results in an increased rate of almost 40% – and another 18 projects are in the planning stage.

Silesia Outlet in Gliwice, Poland, is set to join the FACTORY brand, the leading platform of outlet centres in the Polish market, changing its name to FACTORY Gliwice.

Landsec has completed 26 deals with 21 brands in the last ten months across four of its outlet malls, Gunwharf Quays, Braintree Village, Clarks Village and Junction 32. Totalling over 48,000 sq ft, the signings include three relocations and two upsizes, and feature a number of premium brands, such as Kate Spade, Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger and Penhaligon’s.
