Former Görtz CEO takes over Onygo

In October 2023, it was announced that Onygo’s business activities would be discontinued.

The turnaround came on March 1, 2024. At this time, Frank Revermann, former CEO of Ludwig Görtz GmbH, took over the clothing chain, which had previously belonged to Deichmann SE, and is now running it under the name Onygo Retail GmbH, based in Hamburg.
Of the 28 stores, 19 locations are to be retained as well as the employment contracts of the approximately 280 employees.

“Conscious of our responsibility to our employees, we have explored all options to avoid store closures as far as possible,” explained a Deichmann company spokesperson. “The fact that we have succeeded in doing this for over two thirds of the stores together with Onygo Retail GmbH is good news for the employees.”

In order to continue operations as seamlessly as possible, the inventory and existing furniture were also taken over. The following locations are now still in operation: Aachen, Berlin Alexa, Bonn, Dortmund, Hamburg two branches including Hamburg EEZ, Essen, Kempten, Koblenz, Ludwigsburg, Mannheim, Mainz, Münster, Oldenburg, Passau, Saarbrücken, Siegen, Stuttgart and Wetzlar.
