Wien Energie, the largest regional utility provider in Austria and a key player in the national EV charging network, will oversee the construction, lease, and management of the infrastructure. The initiative will support the growing demand for accessible, reliable, and efficient EV charging services in high-traffic urban locations.
The project will be rolled out in two phases. The first phase, encompassing 150 charging points, is scheduled to launch with initial installations by November 2025 and completion by the end of the first quarter of 2026. A second phase, adding another 150 units, is planned for 2029.
The charging platform will offer a broad range of options to accommodate different user needs:
- 50 superfast chargers (200 kW to 400 kW) with an estimated charging time of up to 20 minutes
- 210 medium-fast chargers (50 kW) with charging times up to 2 hours
- 40 slow chargers (11 kW) for extended stays exceeding 4 hours
The partnership reinforces both companies’ commitment to sustainable urban development and improved customer experience through enhanced green mobility solutions.
