The family business MPreis is managed by the fourth generation and celebrates its 20th anniversary in South Tyrol

In the last 10 years, the number of locations in South Tyrol has been expanded by around 75%.

MPreis South Tyrol was launched in Bruneck in 2003. The grocery chain currently operates 25 locations in this region, including five Superm by MPreis stores with a sales area of over 3000 sq m. Next openings in the coming months are planned in Seis am Schlern und St. Jakob (Leifers) but construction has also already started in Vinschgau und Passeiertal. A further 10 locations are planned in South Tyrol over the next five years.

The focus of MPreis is on regionality. The “Südtiroler Almrind”, is a cooperation with South Tyrolean mountain farmers, the “Sonnenland Südtirol”, includes 30 organic products from South Tyrolean organic mountain farming. “Echt Südtirol” is MITALIA’s own brand, whose products are made by smaller South Tyrolean producers using traditional production methods and in many cases still by hand. Around 40% of the product range in South Tyrol comes from Italian suppliers.

The origin of this grocery chain goes back to a grocery store opened in 1920 by Johann and Therese Mölk in Innsbruck. In total, MPreis operates today 257 locations with over 6000 employees and is represented also in Austria in six provinces. The company’s values are lived sustainability, selected variety, emotional aesthetics and family tradition. Marketplaces have always been places of encounter, the center of social life, and MPreis would like to continue this tradition in its markets today.
