The 565 sq m store launched on May 28, 2026, neighboring Pull & Bear, Nike, and Calzedonia.
The assortment spans fiction, non-fiction, crime, children’s and young adult books, a games section carrying brands such as Tonies and Ravensburger, and a digital department covering Tolino e-readers, e-books, and digital audiobooks. The offer is rounded out by exclusive gift and trend items. On the services side, the store features self-checkout, Scan & Go contactless payment, Click & Collect linking thalia.at with the physical store, a gift card with a freely selectable value, and the Thalia app.

Andrea Heumann, Managing Director of Thalia, said: “ShoppingCity is an excellent location, and the catchment area shows clear potential. We are pleased to be expanding our presence in Styria.”
Dr. Heidelinde Zinser, Center Manager of ShoppingCity Seiersberg, added: “Thalia is far more than an additional store for our center. The aim is to create a place of encounter that invites visitors to linger and adds a cultural dimension to our mall. This gives us exactly the kind of dwell quality our visitors are increasingly looking for.”

To mark the opening, Thalia ran a three-day event program from May 28 to 30. Bestselling author Colin Hadler, known for his novels Firewatch and Seven Ways to Tell a Lie, appeared in store on opening day. Promotional offers during the period included a 20 percent discount on all purchases (excluding German-language books and e-books subject to fixed book pricing), discounted puzzles, and a free tote bag with every purchase. First-time Bonuscard sign-ups received a pair of exclusive Thalia socks, while existing members could purchase the Tolino Vision Color e-reader at a preferential price of 179 euros, down from 199 euros.
