TARASY ZAMKOWE LAUNCHED IN LUBLIN

The Austrian company Immofinanz Group has completed another retail project in Poland: the Tarasy Zamkowe mall opened in Lublin on March 4, 2015. Its lettable area of 38,000 sq m gives it room for shopping, entertainment, recreation, and leisure activities with a balanced tenant and range mix. The investment amounted to approximately €115 million.

“Retail real estate in Poland is one of our current priorities in development. Opening Tarasy Zamkowe here represents more than a milestone: The shopping center is also a prime example of our business model – the real estate machine. Since the highly profitable sale of Silesia City Center in Katowice in 2013, we have already increased our retail area in Poland by more than 71,000 sq m and other projects of our brands Stop.Shop. and Vivo! are under construction or in preparation,” remarks Eduard Zehetner, CEO of Immofinanz Group. The opening was attended by representatives of the city, the general contractor Warbud, and the architectural office Stelmach I Partnerzy.

Tarasy Zamkowe offers 150 shops and numerous restaurants, cafes, and snack bars, as well as accommodating 1,400 parking spaces on three levels. It is also easily accessible by public transport, bicycle, and on foot. The catchment area includes the 350,000 inhabitants of Lublin as well as more than a million people in the surrounding area.

Numerous well-known international and local retailers have chosen to move into the center, including all the brands of the Inditex Group (Zara, Pull & Bear, Massimo Dutti, Bershka, Stradivarius, Oysho, Zara Home), the LPP group (Reserved, Cropp, House, Sinsay, Mohito, Home&You, á Tab), H&M, Media Expert, Delikatesy Alma, Super-Pharm, Rossmann Premium,!con fitness (managed by Holmes Place), Carry, and Swarovski.

AWARD-WINNING SUSTAINABLE CONSTRUCTION

Tarasy Zamkowe’s design combines unique architecture with high ecological standards. The green areas on the roof are a highlight: meadows with lots of plants, walkways, and viewpoints. At the most spectacular spot, visitors can enjoy a one-of-a-kind view of the old town and its historic castle. Public areas at the corners of the mall offer peaceful spaces and room for events. This sustainable approach has not gone unnoticed: In the autumn of 2014, Tarasy Zamkowe was the first shopping center in Poland to receive a “BREEAM Excellent certificate for the design stage.”
