Sandbox VR Comes to Central Bus Station Munich

IPH Group has secured Sandbox VR as a new tenant at Munich’s Central Bus Station (Zentraler Omnibusbahnhof München).

Sandbox VR is a location-based virtual reality experience where groups use state-of-the-art VR technology to explore fully immersive, free-roaming interactive virtual worlds together. The venue officially opened on February 18.

“The lease to Sandbox VR is a key component of our leasing strategy for the ZOB. Our goal is to position the location not only for bus travelers but also as a stronger destination for the surrounding neighborhood. Future leasing will focus on modern food and convenience concepts to better serve the office workforce in the area,” says Lukas Bauer, Consultant at IPH Group.

Opened in 2009, Munich’s ZOB, located in the Arnulfpark district, is a service and retail hub with 29 bus terminals serving national and international routes. Following initially high vacancy rates, IPH Group was appointed by Wealthcap — acting as real asset and investment manager as well as owner’s representative for the ZOB — to reposition and lease the retail space. Under the new strategy, the focus has expanded beyond travelers to include neighborhood-serving retail and food & beverage offerings.
