Opening of Aschaffenburg Markthalle

Following the construction of the Markthalle in Braunschweig, real planned and built the Aschaffenburg Markthalle together with the Metro Properties project team.

The original store, which dates back to the 1950s, was completely demolished. Within ten months, a completely new store was built on the site in the Strietwald industrial estate. With the latest technology, an extensive range of restaurants and cafés and an appealing atmosphere, it meets even the highest demands. As part of the conversion, the previous multi-storey parking deck was demolished and replaced by a spacious, ground-level parking area.

On a sales area of around 5,000 square metres, the newly built market in Aschaffenburg reflects the traditional character of a market hall. The unobtrusive, natural-coloured design of the façade is supported by green elements, trellises with plants and gabion stones. In addition to the architectural reorientation, the location will in future be characterised by an extended range of services. The market has optimal traffic connections. A new bus stop improves the connection to public transport and a new access road to the area from Horchstraße with a new roundabout optimises accessibility by car.

Construction work on the new Aschaffenburg Markthalle began in October 2018 with the preparation and development of the site. In mid-April 2019, Markthalle was connected to the surrounding area, the parking concept with approx. 300 parking spaces at ground level and the outdoor area of the site were laid out. The handover of the building to the real building took place on schedule in mid-August 2019.
