Sellpy @ ALEXA makes the No. 1 second-hand online shop from Scandinavia come alive in ALEXA and integrates second-hand in the everyday life of the visitors.
In 2022, the innovative retail competition First Store by ALEXA was held as a university edition in cooperation with three creative universities. The winners – a team of three students from the macromedia Berlin University of Applied Sciences – have rethought the topic of second-hand with their project Sellpy @ ALEXA. Your initial question: How can sustainability, second-hand and circular economy be designed as an attractive happening to address the ALEXA target group? The answer: in the form of a sustainability event in cooperation with the second-hand online shop and sales service Sellpy. From March 23rd to 25th, Sellpy @ ALEXA will take place as a three-day second-hand event on the Metropolis Court, the prominent event area in ALEXA. A large temporary pop-up store will be set up – with shopping opportunities, information and a DJ.
Ralf Schaffuss, Head of Asset Management Retail Germany at Union Investment Real Estate GmbH, owner of ALEXA, and member of the First Store jury: “We are very pleased that the Sellpy @ ALEXA project is now being implemented. Thanks to the creativity of young students, we are able to set up an innovative project in ALEXA with the up-and-coming brand Sellpy, which is also a first for the Swedish company. The ALEXA is once again presenting itself as a pioneer and platform for current trends.”
Oliver Hanna, Sonae Sierra, ALEXA center manager and also a member of the First Store expert jury: “Sellpy @ ALEXA will definitely be another legendary event à la ALEXA. Our visitors love it when there’s something happening in the mall and we’re sure this in-store pop-up premiere will be an inspiring experience for Sellpy too.”
