Labtech appoints new Retail Asset Manager for Hawley Wharf Camden

LabTech has announced the appointment of Jonny Perkins as Retail Asset Manager for its new 580,000 sq ft development, Hawley Wharf Camden, and LabTech’s other Camden holdings.

Perkins joins LabTech from CBRE where he spent six years in the central London retail leasing team, advising institutional and private landlords, including The Crown Estate, Great Portland Estates, M&G, Sirosa, and CBRE GI on their retail and leisure strategies.

The appointment comes at a pivotal time for the business as LabTech finalises Hawley Wharf Camden, with phase one due to launch later in 2021.  The 580,000 sq ft mixed-use development is a revolutionary retail and leisure destination in the capital.  Jonny’s role will focus on positioning Hawley Wharf Camden as a must visit F&B, leisure, entertainment, and retail destination at the heart of LabTech’s Camden estate.

Yaron Shahar, Chief Executive of LabTech, commented: “London is a key market and attracting new talent such as Jonny is crucial to our strategy for growth.  Camden is changing, and Hawley Wharf Camden is leading the iconic area’s transformation.  Jonny brings a wealth of experience that will be crucial in securing the right mix for Hawley Wharf Camden and the wider estate.  While it is a challenging period, we are confident Hawley Wharf will emerge as a new cornerstone for Camden and look forward to its launch later this year.”

Jonny Perkins, Retail Asset Manager for LabTech, added: “This is a great chance to join an experienced team, headed by Yaron.  Hawley Wharf Camden provides brands with an incredible opportunity, whether they are independents or international icons, to be a part of a revolutionary new destination.  I look forward to helping create Hawley Wharf Camden with the LabTech team, delivering an offer that will help continue the sense of change across the Camden estate.”

Hawley Wharf is located on Chalk Farm Road, a five minute walk from Camden Town Tube station.  The mixed-use canal-side destination will be home to 150 independent and branded stores, over 60 new places to eat, 195 apartments, and 60,000 square feet of Labs co-working space.  At the heart of the development will be Hawley Wharf Camden’s 30 arches, which will provide space for select UK and international brands and artisan producers.

LabTech owns and manages over 2.2 million sq ft of real estate across Camden, Holborn and Kings Cross.
