KiK names Ulrich Hanfeld as New CEO

Textile and homeware discounter KiK appoints retail veteran Ulrich Hanfeld as CEO effective June 1, 2026, replacing Patrick Zahn who departed last September. Hanfeld brings experience from NKD, Otto Group, and Hervis.

Tengelmann Twenty-One has appointed Dr. Ulrich Hanfeld as Chief Executive Officer of KiK Textilien und Non-Food GmbH, effective June 1, 2026. Hanfeld succeeds Patrick Zahn, who left the company in September 2025 after nearly a decade in the role.

ACROSS ACADEMY: Executive Education for Retail & Retail Real Estate

Hanfeld brings extensive retail sector experience. He spent 16 years with the Otto Group in various positions, including President and CEO of Otto Japan. More recently, he served as CEO of Hervis Sport- und Modegesellschaft and Group CEO of TriStyle Group from 2024 to 2026. He previously led NKD as CEO and Executive Chairman for ten years, restructuring the discount retailer and driving growth.
