With a setting made vibrant through an integrated café and local references and service offerings, Douglas created a new destination for consumers with the aim to position the store as an experience-driven urban hub.
The flagship store opened under Schildergasse in Cologne, that ranks among the top 5 busiest and most frequented shopping streets of Germany. As Veit Weiland, CEO of Douglas DACH, sums it up:
“Cologne and the entire Rhine region are the catchment area for Schildergasse, Cologne also ranks highly in our internal ranking and is one of the top locations we operate in DACH. I have been working in retail for a long time and have seen many new store openings, including at Douglas itself, but this one is very emotional and fun when you see how busy city centers can be when the right concepts are in place and consumers respond to them,”
With 1,350 square meters spread over two floors, the Douglas store concept serves as a blueprint for the further development of the Douglas branch network.
