CONTRUCTION PROGRESSING IN GDANSK

One of Galeria Metropolia’s construction elements in Gdansk has already reached the target height of the whole building and installation – a full year and a half before the planned opening. Two levels of the gallery’s northeastern wing are already visible, as is the roof, which will serve as the parking lot for the customers.

The 34,000-sq-m Galeria Metropolia is located at the Gdansk Wrzeszcz train station and is emerging on schedule. About 230 people work on the construction site every day, and these are also joined by subcontractors. The most advanced works are being carried out in the first and second sections of the building, where electrical installations are being laid, partition walls constructed, and facade works are beginning. The construction of the hotel, which adjoins the gallery, has also already begun. In the meantime, the retail and service areas are being commercialized, with over 50% of them already secured with deals or in advanced negotiations.

STRONG RECREATION AND ENTERTAINMENT ZONE

The gallery will have about 150 shops and stands, as well as 6,500 sq m of office space. The shopping center’s main tenants are, among others, Alma delicatessen, with 2000 sq m of space and clothing shops unknown to the Tircity market (Gdansk, Gdynia, Sopot) like Piazza di Moda, Tom and Paul’s, and Zadimo. The fashion offer will also be enhanced by renowned clothing outlets which will be new to Poland. Additionally, a collaboration with Rossmann is in the final stage of negotiations. The food court will include popular self-service chains as well as restaurants with waiters, which are perfect for business meetings. A Bliska drugstore can also be found among the center’s tenants.

One of Galeria Metropolia’s main strengths will be the recreation and entertainment zone with a seven-screen Helios cinema, which will also be one of the most advanced multiplex cinemas in the country, and a 1000-sq-m children zone, in which parents can spend time with their children, have fun with the latest exercises, and multimedia devices, and more. The investor is currently negotiating with tenants from the fitness, sport, gastronomy, and interior design segments. 51% of the retail space is already locked into deals or in advanced negotiation a full 19 months before the mall’s planned opening.
