In the Shopping Centre Performance Report 2025, ALEXA was once again ranked as Berlin’s best-performing shopping centre. Further highlights in 2025 included the market entry of well-known retail brands, most notably the opening of Pop Mart, which attracted significant footfall and media attention. In total, the year saw 46 new leases, store expansions and contract renewals. ALEXA is owned by Union Investment, with Sonae Sierra responsible for centre management.

“For 18 years, ALEXA has been on a successful trajectory and continues to generate strong public attention. This year, the spectacular opening of Pop Mart demonstrated once again that there is no better place for trend-driven brands than ALEXA. Together with Berlin residents and visitors, we are looking forward to further memorable activities that will enhance Alexanderplatz as a location.”

ALEXA as a Place-to-Be for tenants and visitors
As of 31 December 2025, ALEXA—with more than 170 stores—was almost fully let. Compared with the previous year, the centre recorded an increase of 2.5 per cent in visitor footfall and a 4.3 per cent rise in turnover in 2025.
Over the course of the year, the ALEXA team welcomed 19 new leases and store expansions, as well as 27 lease renewals. In addition to Pop Mart, the tenant mix in 2025 was expanded to include the trend-driven brand U.S. Polo Assn., which entered the German market with its new store at ALEXA. Only & Sons and Miniso opened their first Berlin locations at the centre.

Bundesliga club 1. FC Union Berlin also opened a new fan shop for its supporters. Further highlights included the comprehensive modernisation of Thalia’s largest Berlin store and the reopening of Bershka following extensive refurbishment on an almost twice-as-large retail space.
ALEXA has firmly established itself as a visitor magnet among Berlin residents and tourists alike, driven by a wide range of nationally recognised events and activities. In 2025, these included “Touchdown ALEXA,” a major American football event featuring former NFL and ELF players; the Serienale series festival; a free family cinema; autograph sessions with players from 1. FC Union Berlin; participation in the 47th CSD Berlin Pride; the sustainability initiative “Bewusst(er) leben” (Living More Consciously); the 2025 poster competition in cooperation with the non-profit initiative wirBERLIN; and many more.
