The French footwear label Bobbies continues its European expansion and opens its first store in the Netherlands

The second store outside France, after London, has now opened in one of Amsterdam’s oldest districts in Wolvenstraat 21. This neighborhood is part of the hip “Nine Streets” shopping area, where more and more international brands are opening stores.

According to co-founder Antoine Bolze, the plan is to open stores in every European capital. However, Hamburg, Barcelona and Milan were also identified as interesting cities for upcoming openings. The Parisian shoe label Bobbies launched in 2010 with a men’s range of loafers. Later, models for women were added, as well as accessories and other leather goods.

In the new store in Amsterdam, the range consists of around 20-30% sneakers and has been adapted to the clothing habits of the Dutch, but also to the target group of customers aged between 18 and 50. Not all of the 350 shoe models can be found in the brick-and-mortar stores, so customers can also place orders online in the store. Around 200 employees currently work for the company, which has been profitable and self-financed since it was founded.

The next openings next year will be in Brussels, with another location in Paris in April 2024 and a few months later in the south of France.
