Polish retail park Turawa Park is fully leased and ready for further development

Turawa Park in Opole announces the extension in Turawa Park. The retail park concept will offer a unique shopping experience, with an emphasis on convenience, accessibility, and a unique mix of merchandise.

Leasing process of existing Turawa Park Shopping Centre in Opole was finalized at the end of last year with the opening of Maxi Zoo store on the last available retail park unit. The popularity of the center as well as planned development of multiple residential properties in the closest neighborhood had a big influence on the owner’s decision to start extending the center in the beginning of this year. The complex will undergo remodeling of 10 000 sq m newly refurbished offer as an addition to already fully operating 26 000 sq m. The remodeling process is expected to begin immediately and will be completed in time for the grand opening, which is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2023. The new and improved Turawa Park will provide a modern and inviting shopping environment, being designed specifically to meet the needs of customers.

“The huge residential development plans for the immediate surroundings of Turawa Park, and the accompanying infrastructure that will make the area even more attractive than before, made it obvious to us that we want to give our customers an even better, more comprehensive offer. This is why we have decided to create new premises in the ex DIY unit. We are entering a new chapter in the redevelopment and want our customers to be able to enjoy the new addition later this year. We would like to take this opportunity to thank BNP Real Estate for their support, who have played a key role in making this project a reality. Thanks to their support, we are confident that Turawa Park will continue to be a leader in the retail industry and a first-class shopping destination for many years to come”, says Maxim Shkolnick, Focus Estate Fund General Partner.

The retail center has well established mix of tenants representing very well-known retail chains with Carrefour as the food anchor. Given the popularity of the center some of the brands decided on serious changes, ie. Sinsay grew from 300 sqm to 1 000 sqm and Deichmann already introduced the latest concept of its store.

“The center is performing very well in 2022 compared to 2021, recording +7.8% footfall and +14% turnover YTD. It shows that the long-term retail strategy works to create the regional, family convenience center for the citizens of Opole agglomeration. The 10 000 sq m additional space will consist of recognized value retail chains as well as home equipment anchors”, says Anna Pływacz, Associate Director, BNP Paribas Real Estate Poland.

The Turawa Park Shopping Centre is a modern retail facility combining the features of a shopping mall and a retail park, managed by BNP Paribas Real Estate Poland Sp. z o.o. More than 36,000 sq m of retail and service space features 60 shops and service outlets. It includes a Carrefour grocery hypermarket and an IKEA Order Pickup Point. Customers can use 1,400 free parking spaces.
