INTERSPORT EXPANDS WITH FLAGSHIP CONCEPT IN GERMANY

With INTERSPORT Krumholz in Mülheim-Kärlich and Sport Förg in Augsburg, two new locations are added to the INTERSPORT flagship network in Germany.

INTERSPORT Krumholz operates a sports store and a separate outdoor store with a total area of 3,800 sq m at the Mülheim-Kärlich location, while at Sport Förg in Augsburg, sports worlds are not only visible, but tangible on around 3,800 sq m of sales space. With innovative services such as an interactive ski simulator and a sports studio for personal training, Sport Förg offers a shopping experience that intelligently combines information, entertainment and advice.

The flagship concept is a central component of the retailer’s latest BEST IN SPORTS: UP FOR FUTURE strategy. It stands for spaces with a high level of appeal, a high-quality brand image and a clear focus on advice and service.

“The INTERSPORT flagship stores are the spearhead of German sports retail. They show in an extremely high quality how stationary retail can position itself for the future through specialization, service and profiling,” explains Dr. Alexander v. Preen, CEO INTERSPORT Deutschland eG. “With the flagship concept, we as an association are sending a long-term signal for the strengthening of stationary sports retail – with modern spaces, high product range competence and customer-oriented services.”

Other INTERSPORT flagship locations in Germany also include L&T in Osnabrück, engelhorn sports in Mannheim and Sport Reischmann in Kempten and Ravensburg. The high criteria for the flagship label include, for example, an outstanding regional brand presence, exclusive locations, a sales area of at least 2,500 sq m and a varied and attractive range in key categories.
