ZIWA Leobersdorf voted Austria´s best retail park

Highly motivated staff and the step-by-step repositioning of the brand during the last 18 months have proved to be of key importance for the success of retail park operators ZIEGELWAGNER Austrian Retail Group.

One of Ziegelwagner´s ten shopping centres, ZIWA Leobersdorf, was now voted Austria´s best retail park by the organizers of the “Austrian shopping centre performance report 2017”.

With an average grade of 1.2 (based on the Austrian scholastic grading system, 1 being the best mark out of five), the ZIWA retail park was able to outperform all 36 competitors in the whole of Austria.

Opened in 2001, ZIWA Leobersdorf is situated in the heart of Lower Austria and has been a hit with both consumers and tenants right from the beginning. It boasts a broad mix of trades and industry including international chain stores as well as regional and local offerings. A petrol station and a McDonald´s outlet are in close proximity to the retail park´s premises of over 12,500 sq m.

Ziegelwagner CEO Julia Klinglmüller about winning the award: ”We are very happy and truly honoured to have won this award this year. When the founder of the company, my father Werner Ziegelwagner, passed away unexpectedly over a year ago my family and our team had to reorganize the whole company. It was a huge challenge but we mastered it and it opened the way for a new positioning of our ten retail parks. We are very grateful that our clients and partners have all been very supportive and have been rewarding our efforts continuously. “

The “Austrian shopping centre performance report” has been published annually since 2012. 2013 saw the splitting of categories into shopping malls and retail parks for better comparison of companies. In 2017 63 trade professionals contributed their votings to the election of the 159 best shopping centres in Austria.
