Waitrose appoints new Retail Director

The John Lewis Partnership announced that Tina Mitchell will join Waitrose as Retail Director.

Tina will be responsible for setting the shop strategy, leading the plan to offer world class service across all Waitrose shops, and empowering 45,000 Waitrose shop Partners, reporting to James Bailey, Executive Director for Waitrose. 

Tina Mitchell will join the Partnership in November from the Co-op, where she is currently Divisional Managing Director.  She has over 20 years of leadership experience in the retail and grocery industries, and has previously worked for Tesco and Selfridges in a variety of operational and strategic roles. 

Commenting on the appointment James Bailey, Executive Director for Waitrose said: “This role is pivotal to our delivery of the Waitrose strategy as we put ‘World Class’ service at the centre of our vision and make Waitrose the ultimate destination for food and drink.  Tina has an impressive track record in retail and I look forward to working with her.”
