Tokmanni to reopen its comprehensively remodelled store in Hamina

Tokmanni, Finland's largest general discount retailer, will open its comprehensively renewed store in Hamina on Thursday 29 October 2020 at 8 am. The opening of the modern and more attractive store will feature many special offers and Tokmanni’s popular free buckets filled with product gifts. Tokmanni will, naturally, ensure a safe shopping experience also at its store opening events.

At the Tokmanni store in Hamina the customer experience has been improved in line with the chain’s latest store concept by renewing the store signage and fittings, for example. To increase shopping convenience, Tokmanni’s diverse product assortment and shelves have been reorganised into even clearer product areas. The store’s already diverse product selection has been expanded even further by adding more interior design products.

Energy efficiency has also been enhanced in the store renewal by replacing the store’s conventional lighting with energy-saving LED technology, for example. The store will also have a recycling point for customers’ small waste electrical and electronic equipment.

The amount of retail selling space at the Tokmanni in Hamina is the same as before, at about 3,800 square metres. The store will still feature a pick-up point for items bought from Tokmanni’s online store and a Posti Parcel Point. In addition, there is an extensive garden department in connection with the store, as usual.

“We have renewed our Tokmanni store in Hamina, taking into account the needs and wishes of our customers and staff. In addition to a significant improvement in the store’s general appearance, we are especially pleased that our customers will now be able to find our seasonal products more easily, for example,” says Mathias Kivikoski, Sales and Marketing Director at Tokmanni.

The Hamina store employs 25 retail sector professionals. The store, headed by Store Manager Mikko Horto, will serve customers on weekdays from 8 am to 8 pm, on Saturdays from 8 am to 7 pm and on Sundays from 10 am to 6 pm. The store’s address is Rautatienkatu 14, 49400 Hamina.

The Tokmanni in Hamina continued to serve its customers as normal during the remodelling that was carried out during autumn.

Safety first, also at the opening

Tokmanni will take special precautions to ensure a safe shopping experience at the store opening. The safety of the customers and employees will be ensured at the new Tokmanni with protective screens installed at checkouts and by offering customers hand sanitizer during their visit and reminding them to keep a safe distance with posters and announcements. Additionally, the personnel will be instructed to wear face masks. To avoid crowding during the opening, the number of customers inside the Hamina store at one time will be limited, if necessary.

The store’s opening offers will be valid for four days, from Thursday to Sunday, 29 October–1 November 2020. To avoid queues, Tokmanni will distribute tokens for its famous surprise buckets to the first 500 paying customers at the Hamina store. By presenting their token, the customers will be able to collect their surprise bucket containing product gifts from outside the store on the opening day safely without having to queue. In addition to the product gifts, a EUR 50 Tokmanni gift voucher has been hidden in two of the buckets.
