Tamás Szűcs appointed as Country Director JYSK Austria and Hungary

As of March 2026, Tamás Szűcs will assume the position of Country Director for JYSK in Austria and Hungary. He succeeds Sándor Szimeiszter, who will take on an expanded regional leadership role with responsibility for several countries.

The personnel change is part of a broader structural adjustment. JYSK is introducing a new regional setup with three independent retail regions, each supported by its own HR and finance matrix. The aim is to enable further growth, streamline processes and strengthen local organizations.

For Austria, the new structure represents continuity and a clear strategic direction. Tamás Szűcs will oversee both markets and continue their development. His plans include further expansion of the store network and the implementation of updated store concepts in both countries.

Szűcs has been with JYSK since 2009 and has more than 20 years of experience in the retail sector. During this time, he has held positions as District Manager, Retail Manager and most recently Head of Retail for Austria, Hungary and Greece. He also played a key role in rolling out the JYSK 3.0 store concept in these markets. The concept further develops the Scandinavian design approach and shopping experience, offering customers additional inspiration and expertise.

“As Country Director, I am taking on a broader and diverse area of responsibility. My goal is to further strengthen cross-functional collaboration and fully leverage JYSK’s growth potential in Austria and Hungary,” says Tamás Szűcs following his appointment.

With the new leadership structure, JYSK underlines its long-term growth strategy in Europe. For customers in Austria, this means a continued strong store network, updated store concepts and contemporary assortments aligned with the brand promise “Scandinavian Sleeping & Living.”
