ST DAVID’S FOOTWEAR SALES STEP UP AS ECCO CREATES NOISE WITH UPSIZE

The St David’s Partnership, owners of St David’s in Cardiff, one of the UK’s premier retail and leisure destinations, has announced a newly upsized store for Danish shoe retailer, ECCO. The brand has moved to a new store on Upper Grand Arcade near John Lewis.

The new store has been fitted out with a modern industrial feel to showcase the full collection of footwear and befits the Scandinavian heritage of the brand, echoing their design philosophy; form follows function.

Speaking on behalf of the St David’s Partnership, a joint venture between Landsec and intu, Colin Flinn, intu’s regional managing director – west, said: “Footwear brands are an important part of our fashion line-up and the positive trading figures across the festive period reflect our dedication to leasing relevant, leading brands that are popular with our visitors. ECCO’s choice to upsize its unit is a result of its success at St David’s and its commitment to Cardiff.”

Jack Cleary, Head of Retail Operations at ECCO added: “Our new space at St David’s enables us to showcase our products in their best light. Located in the heart of Cardiff, we have high hopes for our new St David’s store attracting ECCO’S diverse and loyal customer base. This prime location attracts the high-volume footfall we desire when selecting our store locations, and this was important when deciding to expand our presence at St. David’s. We are very excited to once again open our doors to the bustling and lively Cardiff, with a new and reimagined design which hopes to keep up with a marketplace, which is constantly growing and adapting.”

JLL and Cushman & Wakefield advised the St David’s Partnership. Colliers acted on behalf of ECCO.
