SES Shopping Centers: New Contracts Signed with the Bestseller Group

The opening of new stores across SES shopping centers has continued unabated: The Danish Bestseller Group is set to open a total of four new “Jack & Jones” (young men’s fashion & denim) and “Only” (young women’s fashion & denim) stores at the SES-managed Weberzeile Ried, MAX.Center Wels, and Gerngross Vienna shopping centers by fall.

The Bestseller Group has been present at Weberzeile Ried, via “Only”, which offers a shop mix of young women’s fashion, since the opening of the center in 2015. At the end of April, the iconic store moved to a new, larger space (approx. 390 m²) situated in the center of the mall. On 27 May, a “Jack & Jones” store, which is also owned by Bestseller, opened in the previous “Only” space, featuring the latest store design concept and covering an area of approx. 220 m². Due to its status as the only purely men’s outfitter at Weberzeile, the label has brought even more stylish fashion for young men to the center.

Fall Arrival of “Only” Stores at MAX.Center Wels and Gerngross Vienna

The opening of an “Only” store at MAX.Center Wels will inject a breath of fresh air into the young women’s fashion assortment. Renovation work on the approx. 240-square-meter store is due to begin in September, with the opening scheduled to take place later this fall.

At the Gerngross department store located on Vienna’s Mariahilfer Strasse, an approx. 400-square-meter “Only” store will likewise supplement the fashion assortment available for young women this fall.

“As a result of the pandemic, retail locations that have always enjoyed high footfall are now in even greater demand among retail concepts. This is an ideal time for companies looking to expand,” says Christoph Andexlinger, Chief Operations Officer of SES Spar European Shopping Centers, analyzing the market conditions. “In addition to that, partnerships that are on an equal footing are more important today than ever before. Our collaboration with the Bestseller Group is an excellent example of such developments, as the company now operates a total of 27 stores at 13 of our shopping destinations in Austria alone, thanks to the new contracts that have recently been signed.”

“We are thrilled to be able to further enrich the Austrian retail landscape via two of our biggest brands: Jack & Jones and Only. During times like these, it is particularly important for us to identify and promote strong brick-and-mortar retail locations and to grow together with our long-standing partners in a sustainable manner. In SES, we have a professional, strong, and fair partner that understands the retailer’s point of view and works in a solution-oriented manner,” says Katharina Buchinger, Head of Expansion Region East at Bestseller.
