The current study “Global Powers of Retailing 2023” lists the 250 companies with the highest sales in the retail sector. Despite several crises, these companies generated 5.6 trillion US dollars in the 2021 financial year and thus recorded sales growth of 8.5%. Austria is again represented in the ranking with 3 companies: SPAR, SIGNA Retail and XXXLutz can once again hold their own in the international environment.
