Portland Design announced that Paddy Gamble has joined the team as Head of Data & Analytics, a key new role that marks a significant step forward in the firm’s ambition to deepen its data-driven placemaking capabilities.

In this role, Paddy will be responsible for building and leading Portland’s data and analytics offer, enabling the team to embed richer insight into how people interact with spaces. This new in-house capability will support clients in identifying opportunities for improvement, evaluating the impact of interventions, and making more strategic, evidence-based decisions that shape meaningful, human-centered environments.

Ibrahim Ibrahim, Managing Director of Portland Design, comments: “It’s great to have Paddy on board—this marks a real step change for our business. At Portland, we firmly believe that data and analytics are essential tools for uncovering insight and turning it into strategies that help shape places around real human behaviour, needs and aspirations.” He continues: “This capability not only opens the door to incremental revenue, but more importantly, allows us to explore new strategies and alternative revenue models based on fresh metrics and new ways of thinking about place performance.”

Paddy Gamble adds: “I’m excited to join Portland and develop its data & analytics proposition alongside Ibrahim and a team that is passionate about data-driven design. Designing great places starts with understanding people—their current and future behaviours, needs and aspirations.
