Otto Ambagtsheer steps down as CEO of VIA Outlets

Change in VIA Outlets’ Top Management: Long-time CEO Otto Ambagtsheer steps down.

VIA Outlets announced that Otto Ambagtsheer will step down as Chief Executive Officer, following a mutual agreement with the Board.

Otto has led VIA Outlets since 2019 when APG and Hammerson PLC jointly took ownership of the business. Ambagtsheer has since played a key role in developing the company’s platform and portfolio.

On his LinkedIn account Ambagtsheer posted:

“After almost eight incredible years at the helm of VIA Outlets, the time has come to say goodbye and explore new opportunities. I am very pleased to hand over VIA Outlets in a very strong position, continuing the consistent growth—both organic and inorganic—that we have achieved in recent years. VIA’s “3R” elevation strategy, targeting more premium brands and higher-spending guests, is proving highly successful. It’s not just the strong financial results that make me proud, but also our ESG track record, which reflects the values and impact we have strived to create. Since starting this journey in 2018, I have truly enjoyed the ride. I will deeply miss VIA—its people with teams in 11 countries, and the unique culture we have built together over the years. A heartfelt thank you to the entire VIA team. Leading you over the past eight years has been an honor and a privilege, and I will carry these experiences with me as I step into the next chapter.”

The official statement mentions that the Board wishes to thank Otto for his contribution and leadership over this period. The management and strategic direction of the business shall remain unchanged. The Board and senior leadership team also ensure continuity, and VIA Outlets to continue to focus on executing its growth and asset management strategy.

An update on future leadership will be provided in due course. VIA Outlets looks forward to continuing its strong partnerships with stakeholders across its portfolio.
