MEC takes over the W1 in Hamburg

MEC METRO-ECE Centermanagement has taken over the commercial and technical property, center and leasing management for the W1 in Hamburg-Wandsbek.

The assignment comes from the KGAL Group which acquired the business building at the start of 2015 for their special AIF as an investment project. The center opening took place in the autumn of last year.

“The W1 is a very successful and modern center, which is already fully leased. MEC has the task of establishing the location as a popular shopping destination in the district of Wandsbek, which is currently experiencing growth,” explains Christian Schröder, COO of MEC.

W1 Hamburg-Wandsbek

13 shops and specialist retailers can be found in the modern and newly-developed business building in the Hamburg district of Wandsbek across more than 10,000 sq m rental space.

The largest spaces are occupied by REWE (2,700 sq m), Decathlon (4,000 sq m) and dm-Drogeriemarkt (800 sq m) in the fully leased location for local supplies.  Furthermore, various service and food businesses, such as Easy-Apotheke, Vodafone, a manicure salon and an Asia restaurant, have set up shop on the ground floor.

More than 300 parking spaces are available to visitors on the upper floors of the six-storey building.
