Mall of Switzerland opening on 8 November 2017

The Mall of Switzerland has announced its official opening date: this unique leisure and shopping destination in the heart of Switzerland will be opening its doors on Wednesday 8 November 2017.

After discussion with representatives of the tenant community, the opening date for the Mall has now been set for 8 November 2017.

“We are looking forward to the opening and are proud to offer Central Switzerland a unique destination for the whole family from the start of November which will constantly surprise and inspire” states Bernd Hofer, Managing Director of FREO Switzerland AG who is responsible for the project’s development.

Contractors are currently working flat-out on the interior fittings of the Mall and individual shop locations. The leisure area is also under development, set to include the first indoor surfing wave in Switzerland, the largest IMAX cinema in the country and a 12 screen multiplex cinema.

In addition to building work and preparation for the centre’s opening, negotiations are underway with additional retailers and interested parties in order to continuously optimise the mix of tenants and to take their requirements into account in the centre’s layout. The management is certain that it will be making further announcements concerning new tenants and attractive offers in the weeks to come.

With a total of 65,000 sq m GLA, once completed the Mall of Switzerland will be the second largest shopping and leisure centre in Switzerland. Connected via a train station and bus stop, with direct access from the motorway to the car park and a large bicycle parking area, the Mall is set to be one of the most accessible and forward thinking shopping centre developments in Switzerland.

This innovative concept brings together approximately 150 shops and gastronomic establishments with exceptional leisure and sports facilities, an unparalleled children’s area and extensive services.
