Lifestyle Outlets welcomes perfume retailer The Fragrance Shop to Lowry Outlet

Lifestyle Outlets has announced UK independent fragrance retailer The Fragrance Shop is opening a store at The Lowry Outlet, the waterfront outlet centre at the heart of Manchester’s MediaCityUK.

Kam Birk, Property Director at The Fragrance Shop, said “We’re very excited to be opening an outlet store at the Lowry Outlet just in time for Christmas, especially as fragrance is one of the most popular gifts for this time of year. We pride ourselves in delivering outstanding, award-winning service to our customers, and making mainstream and luxury fragrance affordable for all. The Lowry Outlet provides an unrivalled level of support for retailers, from moving in and opening, through to ongoing support to boost footfall and maximise opportunities – it was an easy decision to open a store here.”

Established in 1994, The Fragrance Shop has over 190 stores across the country, of which 20 are outlets. Now the UK’s largest independent fragrance retailer, The Fragrance Shop offer over 150 fragrance brands and over 100 beauty brands in store and online.

The Fragrance Shop’s new lease takes a 400 sq ft store, creating a host of new jobs within the region when it opens in early December.

The new signing represents a step closer to The Lowry Outlet’s mission to continue being a leading outlet retail and leisure destination and is part of a wider masterplan and £26m regeneration project, The Watergardens. The project will see the transformation of the Southern waterfront into a vibrant leisure destination offering a new 35,000 sq ft restaurant terrace benefiting from a new Metrolink line opening next year. When it opens, The Fragrance Shop will join an array of leading brands in the centre such as M&S, Clarks, The Body Shop, Beauty Outlet, and Molton Brown.

Lifestyle Outlets continues to defy the national retail trend with soaring sales and new store openings. The company has reported a 14% increase in sales, in contrast to slowing high street sales, which rose by only 0.6% according to the British Retail Consortium*.

Rachel Scott, Head of Leasing at Lifestyle Outlets, comments: “The Fragrance Shop is a fantastic brand to bring to the Lowry Outlet and we’re thrilled to announce the new store opening. The store will be a great addition as the centre’s new fragrance outlet and will be a significant boost to the strong beauty and gift offering.

Lifestyle outlets has continuously announced new store after new store lately which is as a direct result of our successful, marketing and events strategy, great mix of brands, and focus on people and experience, defying national trends for retail and drawing visitors back time and time again. It’s a very exciting time for the Lowry Outlet with our regeneration project well underway and we expect to be making many more announcements in the coming months.”
