Lidl reports struggles with Expansion in Belgium

The international discounter is facing challenges in the region, as Lidl Belgium did not generate profit the previous year. To correct and enhance their financial results, the company plans on addressing the issue, investigating the main cause for failure.

Closing the last fiscal year with only 3% growth, Lidl surpassed a sum of 31.1 million EUR loss. Nonetheless, the Belgian headquarters received a significant support from Lidl Germany – which raised the former’s capital by 50 million in 2024. Lidl Belgium will continue its efforts to complete growth plans: operating 80 more locations in the country by the year 2038.
