Lagardère Travel Retail Reshapes Leadership Team for Next Growth Phase

Executive Committee appointments underline the company’s focus on global expansion, operational excellence, and strengthening its position in the evolving travel retail market.

Lagardère Travel Retail has announced a series of Executive Committee appointments aimed at strengthening its leadership structure as the company prepares for what it describes as the next phase of international growth.

The leadership reshuffle reflects the company’s ambition to further expand its operational capabilities across global markets while reinforcing strategic functions such as digitalization, sustainability, and international business development.

The most significant appointment sees Jérôme Petit joining the Executive Committee as Deputy CEO, reporting directly to President and CEO Frédéric Chevalier. Petit brings more than three decades of international leadership experience, having held senior operational roles across Europe, Asia, and Africa.

At the same time, David-Alexandre Fournier joins the leadership team as Chief Human Resources & CSR Officer, taking responsibility for global HR strategy and the further implementation of the company’s sustainability roadmap.

Commenting on the restructuring, Chevalier said:

“These Executive Committee appointments reflect the next step in the evolution of Lagardère Travel Retail. We are strengthening a proven leadership team, while reinforcing key areas of expertise to support our operations across all regions.”

Reflecting the Increasing Complexity of Global Travel Retail

Beyond individual appointments, the restructuring signals how rapidly global travel retail is evolving.

Several senior executives will take on expanded international responsibilities. Lucio Rossetto will now oversee North America in addition to Europe, while Vincent Romet expands his remit to lead the entire Asia region alongside the Middle East and Africa. Other changes strengthen regional oversight in Latin America, Switzerland, and the Pacific region.

The reorganization comes as travel retail operators worldwide face a market environment shaped by recovering passenger traffic, shifting consumer expectations, and increasing competition for premium airport and transit locations.

Travel Retail Continues to Expand Globally

Lagardère Travel Retail remains one of the world’s largest players in the sector, operating more than 5,000 stores across over 50 countries in airports, railway stations, and other transport hubs.

The company generated €8 billion in sales in 2025, reflecting the continued recovery and long-term growth potential of travel retail as an increasingly important segment within the broader retail landscape.

For the commercial real estate sector, the move also underlines the growing importance of travel hubs as highly specialized retail environments, where operators increasingly combine convenience retail, foodservice, premium brands, and experience-driven concepts to capture growing consumer spending.

With its latest leadership restructuring, Lagardère Travel Retail is positioning itself to play an even stronger role in that evolving global market.
