The shopping center on Kröpeliner Straße in Rostock’s city center comprises approximately 20,000 sq m of rental space over four floors below ground and three upper floors. Along with 16,000 sq m of retail space, the “Kröpeliner Tor Center” also offers a fitness studio covering around 1,800, office space of some 1,000 sq m and 185 parking spaces.
Ten years after its inauguration a reletting concept was drawn up together with ECE Projektmanagement GmbH & Co. KG as 22 rental agreements were due to expire. This concept consists of lease renewals with existing tenants, including Thalia, Saturn and New Yorker, and nine new shops in the retail and gastronomy segments housed on around 840 sq m. As part of upgrading its visual appearance, some 7,500 sq m of retail space was modified. As part of the refurbishment and modernisation of the retail space, a food court area on the ground floor was redesigned. A lounge area in maritime style and a new lighting concept with gastronomy and herbaceous plants have now added to the overall appeal. In addition, customer comfort has been enhanced through building high quality WC facilities.
