JINLI CHINATOWN HEATS UP CENTRAL CROSS

Shaftesbury has welcomed award-winning Sichuanese restaurant, JinLi, who have opened a second restaurant at Central Cross, named JinLi Chinatown. This is following the success of their first restaurant, which won ‘Best in England’ at the Golden Chopsticks Awards in April 2018.

Designed by an in-house team, the new 4,300 sq ft restaurant has space for 150 covers and offers a menu of modern Sichuan dishes, mixing traditional Sichuanese cuisine with a creative twist. In keeping with mixing the old world with the new, the restaurant is clad in traditional wooden panels whilst menus are digitally displayed.

Commenting on the news, Julia Wilkinson, Head of Group Restaurant Strategy at Shaftesbury, said: “JinLi Chinatown opening their second site within Chinatown London is a great achievement for the brand and makes us immensely proud as a landlord. For them to choose to continue their evolution within the destination, highlights Chinatown London as an iconic and authentic landmark that brands want to be a part of. This second restaurant from JinLi reflects their well-deserved success, and we look forward to working our way through the dishes on their menu.”

Yi Fei, the owner of JinLi Chinatown added: “The concept of JinLi is to bring authentic Chinese Sichuan cuisine to London, transporting the distinct culture and essence of the Sichuan area to the West. We are thrilled to open our new restaurant, JinLi Chinatown, adding to our portfolio so we can share our passion with more visitors looking for an authentic experience.”
JinLi Restaurant has revolutionised Sichuan food in London, recognised by a number of media outlets and awards, the brand was also awarded best Chinese restaurant in England by the Asian and Curry Awards in 2018.
