Hamburg’s first Barrique Shop opens in September 2020 at QUARREE

The franchise chain Barrique has been sharing its passion for good food and drinks with its customers for more than 40 years. Now, this concept is finally coming to Hamburg.

On 196 square meters on QUARREE’s basement floor, the Barrique shop will complement its comprehensive offer for daily needs with an assortment to enjoy deliberately delightful moments in everyday life.

“Enjoyment starts with shopping.“ This is the motto of the franchise chain Barrique, with its carefully selected product range for connoisseurs and gourmets: Wines from all around the world, fine spirits and liqueurs, vinegars and cooking oils, delicatessen products ranging from pastries to mixed spices and chocolate, as well as individually arranged gift baskets. Customers can try and taste almost all of them at the shop. Furthermore, the small bistro, which is integrated into the shop, invites its guests to take a break and have a coffee or a glass of wine along with a delicious snack. So far, there are more than 30 Barrique shops all over Germany.

The new shop at QUARREE will be the first one in Hamburg and was designed in accordance with a freshly revised shop concept. The salesroom will be equipped with barrique barrels to create an atmosphere that is reminiscent of tastings among friends in a wine cellar. The relaxed atmosphere helps customers to slow down and take their time to choose the products he or she wants to enjoy him/herself or give away as gifts. Many of the spirits, vinegars, and oils are individually bottled at the store from big glass balloons.

Norbert Wowy, Managing Director of the Barrique store at QUARREE says, “Since I am a big wine lover, one of my dreams actually came true with this store. I am already looking forward to advising my customers personally at the store and share my passion for the top quality of our products with them; we also have many organic products in our range. The store’s location on QUARREE’s basement floor, near ALDI and Budni, will bring in many customers and therefore I am very optimistic about the future.”

His knowledge and passion for wine and viticulture is something that the native Austrian would like to share during themed events and tastings at the store–a perfect tool for customer retention, from which QUARREE can benefit as well.

Frank Klüter, Center Manager of QUARREE: “Mr. Wowy is a passionate man and the Barrique shop complements our existing offer for everyday needs wonderfully with its special character, personality, and individuality. We are convinced that our customers will gladly welcome this concept.” The opening of Barrique is planned for September 2020.

QUARREE Wandsbek is centrally located in Hamburg’s Wandsbek district, the Hanseatic city’s most densely populated district. The center accommodates more than 90 stores, cafés and restaurants, a Multiplex cinema, a daycare center and the NBS Northern Business School on approximately 50,000 sq m under one roof. On average, QUARREE Wandsbek has 34,000 visitors per day, and 11 million customers per year.
