GCSP’s general assembly conducted successfully in the digital realm / New advisory board elected

After the future conference www.REBOOT.berlin in January of this year, the German Council of Shopping Places held, for the first time, the hybrid conference www.3-5-1-konferenz.de at three locations instead of the German Council Congress, while complying with all corona-related regulations.

“Last Thursday, on November 5, 2020 we proved once again with our first, almost entirely virtual 27th GCSP general assemblythat we defy the pandemic courageously with creative ideas that work and are well received by our members,” says Christine Hager, Chairman of the German Council of Shopping Places and notes with satisfaction that, “we skipped the absentee voting system entirely and switched successfully and immediately to the digital realm!”

Close to 100 participants joined this digital general assembly and followed the GCSP’s review and outlook online. From the studios of Carl Konferenztechnik in Hamburg, the board and the authorized representatives reported via live stream. They discussed via online chat and voted with a professional app tool that was a perfect fit for this general assembly.

The candidates for the GCSP’s advisory board introduced themselves online. In the future, this board will be represented by Johan Caspar Bergenthal, Klépierre Management Deutschland GmbH, Gerrit Egg, WISAG Produktionsservice GmbH, Steffen Hofmann, iMallinvest Europe GmbH, Susanne Klaußner, DIR Deutsche Investment Retail GmbH, Ulrich Schmitz, ECE Projektmanagement G.m.b.H & Co. KG, Hubert Stech, Multi Germany GmbH, and Christoph Stoll, DI Gruppe.

“We are very pleased about the great interest in our work for the retail and retail real estate industry. Prominent industry leaders are part of the advisory board. This emphasizes our status sustainably,” says Christine Hager and her board colleagues Harald Ortner and Markus Trojansky. The outgoing advisory board member Johannes Grooterhorst was appointed honorary legal advisor by the GCSP’s board. Holger Hosang of Allianz Real Estate Germany GmbH retired from his position as honorary auditor. The current auditor, Achim Schulte of Warth & Klein Grant Thornton was confirmed in his office, and Florian Lauerbach of ILG Holding GmbH, was elected as the new auditor.

This first digital general assembly was extraordinarily well received by all participants. “This format is future-oriented to appeal to large number of members. By implementing hybrid formats, we create consistent added value for all. And this is what the new GCSP stands for,” concludes Christine Hager.
