Fashion expansion at London Designer Outlet

Footwear and accessories retailer, Dune London, and formal occasion menswear brand, Moss Bros, are to open at Wembley Park’s London Designer Outlet (LDO).

International retailer, Dune London is to open a 1,335 sq ft unit stocking its range of footwear and accessories. Having opened its first store in London in 1993, it now has stores across the UK and overseas, seeing significant growth in the Middle East, Switzerland and India in recent years. The signing will boost the footwear offer at LDO, joining top-brands such as Dr. Martens, Vans, Converse, Kurt Geiger, New Balance and Skechers.

Daniel Rubin, executive chairman of Dune, said: “Easily accessible and with a growing community of residents, office workers and visitors on its doorstep, London Designer Outlet is the ideal location for our next store opening. The brand will appeal and cater to the diverse range of visitors and will provide a sophisticated and stylish offer at a discount throughout the year.”

Opening a 2,860 sq ft store, Moss Bros will offer its own brand of menswear alongside top international names including Ted Baker, Hugo Boss, French Connection and Ermenegildo Zegna. Specialising in formal occasion wear, the retailer will offer a suit and accessories hire service catering for weddings, black tie and race day events.

Sue Shepherd, Realm’s General Manager at LDO, said: “The new brands will boost the existing fashion choices at LDO. They’ll further diversify the line-up to complement our strong athleisure offer in keeping with Wembley’s world-renowned reputation. As the wider Wembley Park destination continues to evolve, the new signings will appeal to the needs and wants of both the 1.2 million people living within a 20-minute journey time and the 20,000 residents by 2027.”

The signings follow the announcement that total revenue increased +9.2% across the months of June, July and August compared to the same three months in 2018. Meanwhile, like-for-like revenue increased by +4.8% and footfall by +3% year-on-year, across the same period. In particular, total revenue for footwear increased +23% YoY, with Converse, Skechers and Dr Martens performed very strongly.

Located within the wider Wembley Park, undergoing a £3bn transformation, LDO’s access is unsurpassed. Just 12 minutes from Baker Street, it is located on three Tube lines, two train lines, eight bus routes plus ample car parking at low cost.

With annual footfall of 7 million, almost twice as many people visit LDO each year than go to Wembley Stadium and The SSE Arena, combined. Set to attract over 20 million visitors a year, Wembley Park will benefit from £328m annual retail spend, more than Camden, London Victoria and Ealing Broadway.

Bridging the gap between the ease and convenience of online shopping and the physical retail experience, LDO is the first UK shopping centre to offer Dropit, the app-based store-to-door delivery service. Providing a hands-free shopping experience, the service caters to visitors to the wider Wembley Park including Wembley Stadium and The SSE Arena, as part of a day out.

LDO offers aspirational and desirable brands at up to 70% off RRP throughout the year. Its premium fashion, athleisure and lifestyle names include Nike, Adidas, Asics, Champion, Superdry, Guess, Gap, Lee Wrangler, M&S and Beauty Outlet. The retail and leisure destination also offers visitors several restaurants and bars in which to relax during a daytime shopping trip or before an exciting evening event. These include Nando’s, PizzaExpress, wagamama, Zizzi, Cabana, handmade burger Co. and Las Iguanas.

LDO is managed by Realm, the UK’s specialist outlet operator; and is owned by Quintain, developer of Wembley Park.
