ECE Retail Meeting: 800 Attendees Convene at Retail Networking Event

Around 800 experts, decision-makers and partners from the retail industry gathered today for the 22nd edition of the ECE Retail & Placemakers Meeting at the Fischauktionshalle in Hamburg.

The event, established as the largest retail industry gathering in Europe, brought together participants to exchange views on current trends and developments, innovative concepts, new projects within the ECE portfolio, and international expansion trends.

ECE Retail Awards

For the first time in several years, the ECE Retail Awards were presented at this year’s meeting, honoring particularly successful and innovative retail partners:

  • The Best Performance award goes to New Yorker, a long-standing and consistently high-growth retail concept within the ECE portfolio.

  • Best Innovation was awarded to Chinese newcomer Xiaomi, which recently opened its first three locations in the ECE portfolio and has plans for numerous additional sites.

  • The Best Cross Border award goes to Danish retail chain Normal, which recently expanded into Austria together with ECE.

Joanna Fisher, CEO of ECE Marketplaces, commented: “Congratulations to New Yorker, Xiaomi and Normal as the winners of the ECE Retail Awards. These three concepts are exemplary of the outstanding performance, innovative strategies and international growth of retailers that are a key driver and critical success factor for the future development of the retail market, and whom we support and actively shape with our network and expertise as Europe’s leading shopping center operator and largest retail landlord.”

ECE has organized the Retail & Placemakers Meeting since 2003 as a networking and business platform for dialogue with partners and guests from retail, hospitality, placemaking and entertainment, as well as investor partners.
