Decathlon expands into Styria for the first time: Austria’s most modern store opens in Seiersberg-Pirka in 2022

With its first branch in Styria, Decathlon is creating around 45 new and sustainable jobs in the region. In doing so, the internationally successful sporting goods manufacturer and retailer is already sending an important signal for the future of Styria in these challenging times. The conscious decision for another location not only strengthens the stationary trade in the region, but also secures additional local added value.

Decathlon and its partner HMI Immobilien GmbH reaffirm this strong commitment to the location by exclusively commissioning local companies in the course of building the new store.

In addition to an extensive catchment area, which includes Graz, Leoben, Kapfenberg and even parts of neighboring Slovenia, the location of the Gewerbepark Seiersberg-Pirka is particularly impressive due to its optimal accessibility for visitors. Thanks to the excellent infrastructure and first-class transport connections, the Gewerbepark Seiersberg-Pirka in the heart of Styria can be reached quickly and easily from any direction. The unique choice of location directly at the central traffic junction A2/A9 is complemented by continuously expanded public transportation and a sustainable bicycle network.
