The popular cinema chain builds a new multiplex in collaboration with Europe Group and by support of Sarajevo Film Festival.

Cineplexx cinema group celebrates the start of construction for the first cinema location in Sarajevo, the capital city of Bosnia and Hercegovina. The company will build eight cinema halls with total capacity of 1.400 seats and visitors will have the possibility to experience state-of-the-art cinema projection technology showing national and international movies in a modern and impressive atmosphere while enjoying the appreciated high service standards of Cineplexx. “We are very proud to open our first cinema in Bosnia’s capital city. As an innovation leader we are committed to offer our visitors the best cinematic experience and this can be expected of us as well.”, said Christof Papousek, CFO and managing partner of Cineplexx International and Member of the ACROSS Advisory Board.

The Sarajevo Film Festival, which is an international film festival with great focus on the South Eastern Europe region, supports the new project as experts in film business on the market and announced Cineplexx Sarajevo as the next location for the well-known festival.

Further projects in Romania and Kosovo

Besides Sarajevo, Cineplexx group has several other projects under construction. The group of cinemas recently expanded to Romania with the acquisition of the 2700 seats Cinema at Baneasa Shopping City, one of Romania’s most visited cinemas, thus laying the foundation for the market entry in June 2019. Two more locations will be opened until end of the year in Romania.

In the beginning of October this year the first cinema in Prizren will open its doors to many movie fans in this region. It will be the second location of Cineplexx in Kosovo, the group is very successfully operating in Pristina since 2016.
