Colosseum Mall Signs New Tenants

Colosseum Centre, located in the north-western part of Bucharest, district 1, has attracted new fashion, leisure and food court tenants, as part of the extension plan of the commercial centre. As the construction work progresses, many tenants are interested to join Colosseum Mall. This trend is sustained by the strong performance of the existing Colosseum Centre which has given brands a great opportunity to develop their businesses in district 1, Bucharest.

Designed as a new, modern retail concept with premium finishes, located in an area where the residential sector is rapidly growing, the extension of Colosseum centre is a natural step forward. The development of Colosseum Mall strengthens Colosseum centre’s position in the Bucharest retail market

“In the past years, the local retail market has been focused on large and very large developments. In Bucharest this is a popular trend and therefore, most of the successful projects exceed 20,000 sqm. Colosseum centre’s extension with the mall meets today’s market’s needs and is undoubtedly one of the most important retail developments of the recent years. We are pleased to announce that strong and reputable international fashion anchor retailers recently joined our project: Mango – the Spanish fashion retailer which now operates over 1,100 stores worldwide, New Yorker – one of the largest European fashion retailer, CCC – one of the largest footwear retailer in Romania, Colin’s – denim specialist, with more than 600 shops around the world, became our partners in this very exciting journey. Colosseum Mall also attracted new tenants from other retail sectors like, Dm drogerie markt – the market leader in its sector with more than 3,300 stores in Europe; Noriel – the reputable toys shop operator; Diverta – with its large media & books offer; Gregory’s brings to our project one of the most appreciated coffee and Greek bakery as well as grocery products; Coffee Ritazza shall offer artisan style coffee in a modern and friendly atmosphere at one of the mall’s entrance. In the leisure sector, World Class, the largest fitness operator in Romania and Happy Cinema, a multiplex cinema, will be the main attractions.  With over 80% of the retail spaces now signed or spoken for, we are in advance discussions with other reputable retailers soon to be announced, which will bring even more diversity in the merchandise mix of Colosseum Mall, according to our leasing and development strategy.”, said Doinita Ilie Leasing Manager JLL Romania.

“Colosseum centre is a mature and stable retail development. Now open for more than 7 years, Colosseum centre is growing steadily. The layout of our retail centre is the most important asset, because the design ensures the maximum comfort to our customers. This translates into accessibility, airy common spaces with natural light, generous outdoor parking with easy access to shops and a mix of tenants that offers a wide variety of products. The current extension, the construction of Colosseum Mall, is designed to complete the current retail centre, bringing a modern concept with premium finishes and new shopping and leisure opportunities to our customers. The next development phase of Colosseum real estate shall also include residential. We have applied for building permission for two residential blocks with more than 500 units located next to Colosseum Centre.” added Mihai Dinu, General Manager Colosseum.

As a result of the expansion, Colosseum centre will have in total 54,500 sqm GLA of retail space, becoming the second largest retail scheme in the 1st Sector of Bucharest.
