Chapman Taylor designing major mixed-use venue in central Tashkent

Chapman Taylor is designing a major mixed-use development for a 5.6-hectare former factory site in central Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

The 100,000 sq m GBA scheme will create a modern retail and leisure development for Tashkent and the wider region, designed to create a sustainable and vibrant destination for people of all ages.

Shopping and entertainment will form the heart of the scheme, bringing well-known regional and international brand names to the city. The diverse retail offer, including fashion stores and a hypermarket, will be complemented by a restaurants and cafés, a food court, a cinema, street food, children’s entertainment and beautiful landscaped spaces. The complex will be served by basement parking.

The architectural style of the complex is modern and highly uplifting. Bold gestures, a rich variety of quality finishes in different shapes and sizes and a careful choice of colours, textures and lighting result in a high-quality and stimulating environment.

The intention is to create a major attraction and a popular public place for the city, with a wide range of facilities and offers within an uplifting and entertaining environment. The site’s excellent location, accessibility and visibility provide a wonderful opportunity to create an exceptional place for all, including the occupants of the new residential towers which will be built on the podium.

Chapman Taylor provided the design concept for this landmark retail and leisure development. The large-scale scheme will be one of the first of its kind in Uzbekistan and is expected to become a popular destination for people from all over Tashkent and the wider region.
