Amsterdam The Style Outlets obtains BREEAM New Construction certification in the design phase

The center’s development is on track to open in autumn 2020.

Neptune, a joint venture between Neinver and Nuveen Real Estate, has obtained the BREEAM New Construction certification in the design phase for Amsterdam The Style Outlets in the Netherlands.

The outlet center, whose foundation stone was laid in June of this year for an autumn 2020 opening, is implementing high sustainability standards in line with the JV’s commitment to developing environmentally responsible and efficient projects. Sustainability measures at the center are focused on providing easy access by public transport, guaranteeing efficiency in energy and water usage, and ensuring the conscientious choice of construction materials.

Amsterdam The Style Outlets is being developed in the Randstad area, one of the wealthiest and most densely populated regions of Europe, benefiting from a catchment area of 12 million people within 90 minutes’ drive, and located 10 minutes away from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport. The outlet center will feature 19,000 sq m of GLA and will house 115 stores, with 1,000 sq m devoted to leisure areas and to restaurants with outdoor seating. Over 70% of the GLA has already been committed in the pre-leasing phase.

The scheme will become Neptune’s first outlet center in the Netherlands and the 14th European asset in the JV portfolio.
