The Mainz-based advisory firm which specialises in retail and mixed-use real estate, ambas Real Estate has successfully positioned itself in the European market over recent years through a series of high-profile transactions in the complex retail real estate segment. Recent disposals include the Gropius Passagen in Berlin and Espaí Gironès near Barcelona, as well as the completion of several international corporate M&A transactions.
Against the backdrop of evolving market conditions increasingly characterized by capital structuring requirements, refinancing needs, and strategic portfolio management, ambas Real Estate is deliberately expanding its advisory platform by appointing Günter Kaufmann.
In addition to its established consulting services, the owner-managed firm’s future activities will include the structuring and restructuring of real estate financing, as well as professional workout advisory services regarding non-performing risks in loan portfolios. With this expansion, ambas Real Estate is further establishing itself as a strategic sparring partner for globally active investors, banks and alternative capital providers.
Extensive experience in corporate leadership and real estate finance
Günter Kaufmann is a graduate in business administration with extensive experience in corporate leadership and real estate finance. He has over 25 years’ experience at the intersection of real estate, finance and corporate management. Most recently, he served as Chief Executive Officer of Auktion & Markt AG. Prior to that, he was Head of Real Estate at Bank of Scotland, where he was responsible for the German real estate lending business, primarily serving international investor groups. His professional expertise includes strategic corporate development, the structuring of complex real estate financing solutions, and the management of non-performing loans (NPLs).
