Mallson Polska acquires the EMPIK chain to C.H. Sekunda in Jędrzejów, Poland

The Empik chain will open its store in the region’s largest retail and service facility, “Sekunda”, in Jędrzejów. The store will occupy 170 sq m of leasable space.

Empik is the largest sales network for culture and entertainment products in Poland and a leader in publishing categories (book, music, film). It is one of the most recognizable and popular Polish brands. It focuses on the passions and interests of Poles – inspires and suggests how to spend time in an interesting way. In nearly 300 salons scattered all over Poland, it offers books, CDs, films, newspapers, stationery and creative items, educational toys, board games and tickets to entertainment, cultural and sports events.

Sekunda is the only shopping mall in the city and a response to the needs of the inhabitants of the city and its vicinity. On the area of approx. 13 thousand sq m GLA will offer about 40 stores of popular brands – fashion, footwear, drugstores, rtv-household appliances, interior furnishings, services and others. The combination of a gallery concept with a comfortable passage and a retail park will provide the residents of Jędrzejów and the surrounding area with a wide range of modern shopping, service and gastronomic space. Among the tenants who will open their stores in the Sekunda Shopping Center there are already well-known brands such as: the only LIDL store in the region, Jysk, Sinsay, CCC, Martes Sport, Pepco, TEDi, Action, Media Expert, KiK, Smyk , Kakadu, Rossmann, Kaes, Diverse, Big Star, Yes or In Medio.

– During this extremely difficult time, I can confirm with considerable satisfaction that our success is the commercialization of such a large project in 99%, which proves its great potential and strong position on the market, and the fact that we have only the last premises left for rent, is in talks with potential tenants – says Ewa Ściubidło, Vice President of Mallson Polska, the company responsible for the commercialization of the facility.

Sekunda Shopping Center is located at the intersection of Reymonta and Armii Krajowej Streets. Nearby there are housing estates, a city park, the stadium of the Sports Club and the railway and bus station, as well as schools and state institutions. An additional advantage of the project is the close vicinity of a petrol station, car wash and vehicle inspection station. Customers will be provided with a car park with over 300 spaces.

The investor of Sekunda is Quantum One from Jędrzejów. The project was made by the Krawczyk Andrzej Design Studio.

Mallson Polska is responsible for the commercial concept of the facility and its rental. The opening of the facility is planned for May 2021.
