Trafford Center launches Tinsel Town outdoor experience for festive period

Manchester’s Trafford Centre created a festive outdoor experience with Tinsel Town, following the recent Summer Social and Spookfest events.

Tinsel Town offers a covered ice rink in partnership with Hits Radio, alongside the UK’s longest toboggan slide, an ice-skating show within Trafford’s ‘Big Top’, a Ferris wheel, a mobile bungee crane, a mobile zip wire ‘Big Red’, as well as fairground rides, street food, and Father Christmas himself in his twinkling tipi.

Underpinned by a winter wonderland of rides and festive fayre, the event features the ice-skating show Snowstorm, starring an international cast of ice skaters and circus artistes across a 56 sq m ice rink and produced by Carol and Phillip Gandey.

The independent street food vendors include celebrity-run Oh My Glaze, Old School Dogs, The Thai Food Van, Epic Pizza, World of Sweets and the Bouji Baker, alongside traditional Bavarian huts serving mulled wine and Bratwurst.

Philip Lunn, of asset manager Pradera Lateral, said: “We have made a commitment to revive the center’s experiential reputation and Tinsel Town does not disappoint; it’s a truly family-friendly festive event that will be unique in the North of England with visitors expected from far and wide.”

Zoe Inman, Center Director, said: “Customers will also be able to enjoy late night shopping alongside the Tinsel Town event, making it a compelling destination, day or night. Trafford Center really will be packed with festive fun.”
