MAPIC 2021 back in Cannes and towards new retail mix

The international retail property market event will gather 3,000+ retail, property, food & leisure leaders from over 40 countries at the on-site event in the Palais des Festivals from November 30 to December 2, 2021.

MAPIC is all about exhibition, conference, and networking with the newly added LeisurUp and The Happetite events joining the site in accordance with current trends towards a new retail mix. Over 60 exhibitors will be present in a dedicated food and leisure area, taking up 50% of the entire exhibition space.

Nathalie Depetro, MAPIC Director, explains: “We will offer the same great measures to bring a nice and safe environment. This year is going to be a very different MAPIC compared to the 2019 edition because there is a new paradigm in the industry so there is a new MAPIC, we changed the value proposition. It is all about building lifestyle destinations together.”

LeisurUp includes significant players from the entertainment industry and The Happetite will feature new restaurant concepts and branding strategies. Digital natives will mix with traditional retailers and present opportunities to exchange ideas about the future of retail as experience destinations.

MAPIC is also on the phygital front with a TV studio being used for the first time and the broadcast can be streamed live as well.

Keynote speakers this year include Philippe Houzé (Executive Chairman, Galeries Lafayette group), Michel Ohayon (CEO, group FIB), as well as Soumia Hadjali (Chief Digital Officer Emea Sephora), Christophe Gomart (Group Dir. of Security, Risk & Crisis Management URW), Yael Coifman (Senior Partner, LDP & President of the EME Board, TEA) and many more.
