Warburg-HIH Invest Real Estate has announced another milestone in its continued European expansion strategy.
On September 1, 2017, the company launched its Austrian operations with the opening of the Warburg-HIH Invest Austria office in Mediatower at Taborstraße 1 in Vienna. Dr. Martin Sabelko (58) has been appointed as the company’s Managing Director.
“We are delighted to welcome such an experienced real estate expert to our team. Together with Dr. Martin Sabelko, we are already planning to further expand our investment in office, retail and hotel assets”, said Andreas Schultz, Managing Director of Warburg-HIH Invest with responsibility for International Transaction Management.
Sabelko is a doctor of law and has almost 30 years of real estate industry experience, which he primarily gained in Austria, the Czech Republic and Hungary. Most recently, he served as Managing Partner with the hoigroup. He also served as Managing Director at CBRE Global Investors Central Europe, SABCON and DTZ Zadelhoff.
Warburg-HIH Invest currently has approximately EUR 600 million of real estate fund assets under management in Austria.

“Our new regional presence will allow us to further expand our local networks, continually grow our property portfolios and optimise the management of our investments”, added Alexander Eggert, Managing Director of Warburg-HIH Invest and Director of Fund and Product Management and Corporate Management.
Alongside France, Spain and the planned regional office in The Netherlands and in Poland, Warburg-HIH Invest has offices and subsidiaries in Germany and five other European countries. In common with Warburg2/HIH Invest’s other regional offices, the new Vienna office will also offer long-term transaction and asset management services.
“Across Europe, we have identified a series of attractive opportunities for appropriate transactions and investments, each of which will enable us to satisfy the yield expectations and quality demands of our investors”, said Eggert.
