The lettings to Sostrene Grene, who opened their 2nd UK store in Chester late last year, HMV and Muffin Break have improved the tenant mix and increased the centre’s net operating income by 10%.
Jonathan Cooper, Director of Sostrene Grene, reports “Sostrene Grene Chester has got off to a fantastic start, from the opening day with queues going out of the centre to having over 10,000 customers a week coming into the store at Christmas. We are overwhelmed by the response to our shop in the Grosvenor Centre Chester and how quickly the local population have taken this new Danish store to their hearts with continued repeat business.”
The new additions follow relets to H & M and Topshop and the relocation of Costa Coffee to a bigger unit, demonstrating retailer confidence in the scheme.
Alex Brooker, Asset Management Director of Ellandi added “These new retailers re-affirm the Grosvenor Centre as the heart of retail in the historic City of Chester. We are working up a number of redevelopment plans in the pipeline and are currently in negotiations with a selection of international brands and occupiers which we expect to be able to reveal soon.”
