Originally a small family-owned ice-cream shop in Italy, Gelato Divino has expanded rapidly since its launch in 2009. The retailer now has over 50 stores in the United Arab Emirates, and has set its sights on expanding across the UK.

Mintel Global News Products Database shows a 95 percent increase in global gelato introductions from July 2011 – June 2016, indicating that the popularity of gelato is spreading globally, with a strong demand in European markets for it to be made more widely available.
